Haiku–Tue: All Haiku, All Tuesday
mike harding’s latest idea has caught very well amongst my twitter friends - writing tweets in haiku for an entire day every week will stretch our brains nicely, i expect!

I can’t help it - I’m hooked on Twitter. Darren sent me an invite yesterday and after initially wondering what the hell the point was, I’ve gotten into it.
It’s the latest in a very long line of social networking sites, but one I like for its total simplicity. It gives me 160 characters to tell you out there what I’m doing at any given time - a little series of “text messages” that rather than being confined to my phone and easily deleted can be read by my friends, or the internets at large.
Twitter is not interested in lists of my favourite movies or bands (something I never fill out anyway - who cares?). The only things I can fill out are my name, URL and a 160 character bio. I can totally customise the look of the page if I want to and most importantly, I can check out what my friends are doing. It has the stalkerness of Flickr with a few extra cool features - I can IM to it and receive info through IM by using a number of IRC-like server commands. An extra bonus is that it’s not in beta and anyone can signup without waiting for an invite.
I know I’m hooked on something when I can only think of who else I could chat to/update through it and who I want to hear more about. It’s gotten to the point where already I’m responding to Twitter messages my friends are typing.
It’s going to be a great addition to my upcoming web trail, as yes, I have to copy Jeremy and Darren, it’s just too cool…
