mobile phone numbers should work like email...
It is just a simple truth, and one that is highlighted to me every time I have to manually enter a phone number or save a number to my SIM card. It’s embarrassing every time I change phones or with the press of a button delete my contacts.
It would be so much easier if when someone texts me, I never have that moment of “who is this?” or “must remember to save this number”.

webstock 2008: a roundup
Webstock 2008 was an event and a half, as expected - amazing speakers, a list of books to search out and read, new friends, new and/or improved ideas. It has taken me a few days to process the intense days (2 workshops, 2 days of conference proper) I had last week. I have been a Webstock evangelist for the past 2 years, and the second time is just a big fat double underscore to support that.

structuring personal digital artifacts
I have a mess of websites, several domains, and content all over the place - Wordpress blogs, a web trail, or using services such as Flickr, Twitter, and Livejournal. The aim is to be as complete as possible in creating a catalogue of experience and thoughts so that at any point in the future I can be accurately referential. Photo albums don’t work for me any more - you can’t search by tag.

About 9.50AM yesterday morning it started to rain. As we are currently in Wellington I wasn’t entirely surprised but the main issue was that at 10AM we were supposed to be running the Webstock Photo Walk.
